ECOLO Japan, the Green group of Japan are always ready to welcome
and meet Green delegates
from all over the planet who visit Japan.
The following Greens already visited Japan, when ECOLO welcomed
and talked with them directly:

ECOLO greatly succeeded in "Melanie Mullen's Japan Tour"
November 17, 2009

Sponsored by national Ministry of Environment, we invited
Ms.Melanie Mullen, young, charming and popular Green
activist from Toronto, Canada.
Her environmental activities and achievements began already
when she was in an elementary school.
In a university days, she planned and carried out a lot of
eco-projects for the campus and the nearby cities.
She also revitalized a desolated old downtown of her home
Niagara Falls only in a year, collecting citizens to encourage them.
Estimated such various, meaningful achievements,
she was nomitated a candidate for provincial council by Green Party of
Ontario, as well as elected an
interim deputy leader of GPO as well. In 2009, she set up a new ecological business for sustainable
builiding and architecture.
ECOLO Japan invited her as a main guest speaker in 4 different universities
around Tokyo, and
another 5 meeting event, during her one-week stay in Japan, in the middle
of November.

ECOLO Japan ended up a series of "Sustainability Seminar"
September 21, 2009
For two years, we focused our main activities on the lecuturing event
where sustainability and ecology can be convined.
We called a lot of participants who had interest in many different perspectives
in the field, such as CSR, GNH, anti-globalisation movment like WSF, global
poverty, BI (Basic Income), child labor, organic farming, global tax, renewable
energy, biodiversity, information disclosure, chemical poisons, sustainable
development, ecological patents, etc.
We will continue to hold such various mixed seminars, but this kind of series we will end up this year.
From next year, we ECOLO will extend the capacity and range of the seminar,
tied up with
political phases of Japan and the globe, will start new events widely
and openly.

ECOLO challenged for the National Election 2009
August 30, 2009
Mr. Masa Kato, co-founder and executive committee member of ECOLO
Japan, challenged for the general election 2009 from the three Million
Big City Yokohama district.
Unfortunately he did not win, but he gained more than 20,000 votes (7.6
%), ahead of the candidate supported by Japan Communist Party (JCP).
This is the first challenge for ECOLO Japan to the national election,
so that we were confident of the result,
We also ensured that we would continue to challenge for the coming nationwide
elections from next year too. More...
ECOLO launched Campaign for the National Election
January 5, 2009
A founding and executive committee member launched his own team
called "TEAM TAMI"
(Team of the People) ---- for the coming national election
(for Lower House Parliament) 2009.
. They are calling for reduction of wasteful use of national budget
by the current government,
including usage of tax and subsidies. Instead he claimed using
them for promition of renewable
energy, for social and public sector such as medical care or
public education system.
ECOLO started "Sustainable Seminar" Series in Tokyo
November 30, 2008

To enforce sustainable development in our society, and show young activists
how important you should see the world from a global point of view, ECOLO
started a successive series of youth seminar, where each time young leading
panelists are lecturing and speaking about sustainable policy and vision
of global and domestic issue in terms of ecology, social justice, non-violence,
human rights and participatory democracy. More....
ECOLO is preparing for a New Green Party in Japan
September 10, 2008
Currently two big Party-coalitions only rule the Japanese Parliament
(Diet). Both of them are not
sensible nor sympathytic to Green politics at all, instead they
keep enforcing global free trade system,
promoting global financial market economy and try to privatise
public sectors more rapidly.
To convert these political trend, ECOLO set up and call for
a new Party vision, strongly against
"neo-liberalism" policies and establish an alternative
politics based on ecology and social justice.

ECOLO attended ”Green Summer University” in Germany
August 28-31, 2008
Ms. Miki Konishi, an overseas member of ECOLO Japan
attended Green Summer University held in Frankfurt Oder,
Germany. There more than 800 participants from around Europe
get together, enjoyed holding many sessions and workshops.

ECOLO Japan participated in Global Greens 2008
May 1-4, 2008
ECOLO Japan participated in Global Greens 2008, held in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
This was the meeting of Green parties and green political and NGO groups
all over the world. This time more than 1,000 participants from 88 countries
got together in the Mega-City of Brazil, talking and exchanging their ideas,
promoting friendship and discussion.
There ECOLO Japan proposed the conference documents "21 Points" plan in terms of sustainable climate policy.

Chairperson visited London to join Green Party Events
April 26-28, 2008

Dr.Shuji Imamoto, the Chair of ECOLO Japan visited London on his
way to Brazil (participation in Global Greens 2008), where he was
officialy invited to Barnet Green Party in the northern part of London.
Thereafter he visited UK national Green Party office, joined their
London Mayoral election campaign. More....
ECOLO Japan starts 2008 Campaign for Energy Efficiency

ECOLO Japan planned a series of great campaign for the
next year 2008.
where regional camapaign for energy efficiency is included.
Tthe chairperson says, "in this campaign we try to call for the target that
CO2 emissions in the capital area of Tokyo should be reduced
30 percent

Conference in Nairobi

"ECOLO Japan" ― visited Nairobi, Kenya in order to
participate in the Global Greens Conference
held in 16-19th January, just before opening the World

ECOLO Japan's Team visited European Greens
Congress in Geneva
October 13-15/2006
The Chairperson of ECOLO Japan (Japan Greens) and the staffs visited Brussels
in Belgium and Switzerland in Geneva in October 2006, in order to participate
in
2nd European Greens Congress.
We could exchange with a lot of Green members in Europe, particularly among
young Greens.
The 2nd Congress for European Green Parties was
held in Geneva, on 13th and 14th October 2006.
We participants team from ECOLO Japan were
always welcomed and could meet many Greens
from different countries in Europe.

ECOLO Japan's Team visited Greens in Brussels
October 11th, 2006
We visited different Greens' offices in Brussels. First,
we met Belgian Greens ECOLO" office in Brussels.
There we talked each other for some time, heard the
report of the local election of Brussels in October.
This is the first meeting between the original "ECOLO"

We ECOLO JAPAN started only with 15 persons at the beginning of last year 2004,
butwithin a year, the number of our members reached 200 very rapidy.
We made much effort to hold regular meetings, seminars and workshops each
time,
whose participants were mostly 20 to 30 years old, then we got many young
(women) supporters and staffs as well. More....
