We ECOLO JAPAN started only with 15 persons at the beginning of last year 2004, but within a year, the number of our members reached 200 very rapidy.
We made much effort to hold regular meetings, seminars and workshops each time, whose participants were mostly 20 to 30 years old, then we got many young (women) supporters and staffs as well.
The main topics of our events were procedure of Kyoto Protocol, promotion of renewable energy or environmental conservation, ant other global "green" policy issues.
We also were very successful to do network with other environmental NGOs, think tanks,university graduates and eco-activists in Japan.
This shows how many young generation in Japan consider seriously about their own future society and life as well as how much they want to action what they can do for them.
We ECOLO JAPAN clearly gained its first step to help found a Green Party of Japan to solve those problems.
Our target is to realize comprehensive ecological policies in our country and in our planet. To do so, we make effort our members up to 1,000 within these two years, continuing our strategy "5-YEARS-PROJECT" until 2009.
